Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow Empowers Young Innovators in Tripura

In a groundbreaking initiative, Samsung has launched the fourth season of its flagship innovation competition, 'Solve for Tomorrow,' which aims to empower young minds in India, particularly in the northeastern state of Tripura. On June 9, 2025, Samsung announced that it would allocate INR 1 crore to the top four winning teams to support the incubation of their innovative projects. This initiative not only provides financial backing but also offers expert mentorship from Samsung leaders and faculty members from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, enhancing the participants' prospects for success.

Similarly, Sangeeta Dey, a science undergraduate, aims to create an anonymous digital mental health assistant that caters to local dialects, starting with Kokborok, to address the rising mental health crisis among youth in smaller towns.

At Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, students like Sourav Shukladas are also inspired by the program. Shukladas has been conceptualizing a wearable device that alerts family members and local clinics in case of sudden health issues among the elderly in his village. He remarked, "This platform gave me the confidence that such ideas can be built right here, from Tripura, for the world." His classmate, Sangeeta Saha, articulated a vision for transforming Tripura into a hub of social innovation, focusing on eco-tourism models that empower local artisans while protecting the environment.
