35th Qingdao International Beer Festival Set to Start on July 18, 2025

QINGDAO, China, June 16, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 35th Qingdao International Beer Festival, a prominent event in the global beer industry, is scheduled to take place from July 18 to August 16, 2025, in Qingdao, according to an announcement from the Qingdao Municipal People's Government. This year’s festival is organized under the theme "Qingdao Cheers with the World" and aims to enhance cultural engagement while promoting tourism and local consumption.
The festival will feature three main venues: the West Coast Venue, Laoshan Venue, and the Qingdao Old Town Venue, with additional activities planned across various districts and counties. This year's festival marks a significant extension in duration, increasing from the previous 24 days to a full month, allowing for greater visitor engagement during the summer peak season.
The West Coast Venue, located at the Golden Beach Beer City, will host seven functional zones, including an entertainment area, beer tents, and leisure dining spaces, designed to cater to diverse visitor interests. The Laoshan Venue, situated at Century Square Beer City, will blend traditional Chinese aesthetics with European influences, featuring five major segments under the theme "One City, Two Scenic Highlights." The Qingdao Old Town Venue will be primarily based in the historic Shangjieli and Dabaodao districts, offering 20 themed activities encompassing food, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.
According to the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, this year’s festival will showcase over 2,300 beer varieties from more than 400 brands representing over 40 countries and regions, setting a new record for the event. In addition to the array of beers, visitors can expect an extensive selection of gourmet foods to complement the beverages, further enhancing the festival's reputation as a culinary and cultural experience.
Highlight events this year include the "Golden Flower Award" Craft Beer Competition, the King of Beer Contest, and the Goddess of Joy Selection. Furthermore, the festival will feature performances from world-class arts groups and renowned domestic bands, presenting nearly 2,000 acts, such as anime carnivals, street shows, art parades, electronic music festivals, magic shows, and traditional Chinese operas. These activities aim to create an immersive experience for attendees, fostering a citywide celebration atmosphere.
The Qingdao International Beer Festival has established itself as a vital cultural event that not only showcases global beer brands but also promotes Qingdao as the "Beer Capital of China."
