Arlington Museum Unveils Immersive 'Game of Thrones' Exhibition

ARLINGTON, TX — The Arlington Museum of Art is set to launch an immersive exhibition titled "Game of Thrones: The Exhibition," showcasing an impressive collection of over 60 original costumes worn by iconic characters throughout all eight seasons of the acclaimed HBO series. This exhibition will run from October 4, 2025, to April 5, 2026, with tickets going on sale August 1, 2025.

The showcase will feature costumes from cherished characters, including Daenerys Targaryen's intricate dragon-scale gowns and Jon Snow's rugged Night's Watch gear. In addition to the costumes, attendees will have the opportunity to explore behind-the-scenes insights, images, and design sketches that illuminate the historical influences and creative processes that shaped the series’ iconic looks.

Kendall Quirk, the museum’s Director of Exhibitions, emphasized the exhibition's significance beyond mere nostalgia. "This is not just a tribute to 'Game of Thrones' but also a celebration of the fandom that continues to keep the story of Westeros alive," Quirk stated. "There are so many talented artists who brought the series to life through sets, graphic design, and costumes, and we’re thrilled to honor their contributions."

The Arlington Museum of Art, established in 1974, is strategically located within the Entertainment District of Arlington, having relocated to the Esports Stadium and Expo Center in March 2024. The museum aims to provide a diverse array of exhibitions that engage audiences through immersive experiences. The new facility includes four galleries, totaling nearly 21,000 square feet of exhibit space, which has previously hosted collections from Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher, the Walt Disney Archives, and costumes from the Broadway adaptation of "Wicked."

Chris Hightower, President and CEO of the museum, remarked on the institution’s dynamic nature, stating, "In the last few years, the Arlington Museum of Art has honed its skills as a museum that never stands still."

The forthcoming exhibition is produced in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Globe Experiences, ensuring a rich, authentic experience for fans and newcomers alike. Suitable for all ages, the exhibition promises to draw significant interest from the local community and beyond, highlighting the enduring legacy of the 'Game of Thrones' franchise.

As excitement builds for the exhibition's opening, the museum invites fans to immerse themselves in the world of Westeros, where the magic of storytelling is brought to life through art and design.
