Chase Sui Wonders Shines at 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Premiere

Chase Sui Wonders, the rising star of the horror film genre, attended the Los Angeles premiere of the highly anticipated reboot of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' on July 14, 2025. As part of a new generation of actors joining the iconic slasher franchise, Wonders expressed her deep admiration for the original film's cast, which includes Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., both of whom reprise their roles in the latest installment.
Wonders shared her excitement leading up to the premiere, stating, “The iconography of the OG has been seared in my brain for as long as I can remember. I’m a lifelong fan of everyone in that cast.” This reboot features a fresh ensemble, including Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, and Gabriette, as they navigate the terror of a new killer stalking them.
Having previously starred in the slasher-comedy 'Bodies Bodies Bodies' and the Apple TV+ Emmy-nominated series 'The Studio,' Wonders is no stranger to leading roles in buzzworthy projects. She described the surreal experience of acting alongside Hewitt and Prinze Jr., saying, “Getting to act with them was so surreal... Heartbreakers and Scooby-Doo were some of my most watched DVDs as a kid.”
The filming experience was intense, involving late-night shoots and emotional scenes. Wonders commented, “We filmed on location thousands of miles away from home, keeping nocturnal hours on night shoots, covered in blood, sweat, and tears.” Despite the challenges, she emphasized the camaraderie among the cast, noting, “Jenn brought together a rare breed of young actors who are not only incredibly talented but also want to see each other win.”
For the premiere, Wonders worked with stylist Thomas Carter Phillips to create a striking lingerie-inspired look from designer Wiederhoeft, which featured a structured corset and a silky lace-trimmed skirt. She remarked, “I’ve been a fan girl of Wiederhoeft for a while now. His silhouettes are so singular.” Her ensemble was complemented by delicate pearl jewelry from Presley Oldham, whom she described as a favorite jeweler.
With the film set to release in theaters on July 15, 2025, Wonders is currently on a press tour, where she aims to continue showcasing striking fashion that resonates with her roles. “I gravitate towards looks that feel in the spirit of the project—taking the character and turning her up a couple notches,” she explained.
Looking ahead, after completing her press commitments, Wonders plans to indulge in some well-deserved relaxation, with activities such as surfing and tennis on her agenda. “After screaming my lungs out on the big screen, I’ve definitely earned it,” she concluded.
As 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' hits theaters, public anticipation remains high, not only for the film but also for Wonders's evolving role in Hollywood's horror landscape.
