Evelyn Agnes Fowler: A Lasting Legacy of Love and Family

Evelyn Agnes Fowler (née MacLeod), a beloved member of the Burlington community, passed away suddenly at her residence on June 16, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on March 19, 1927, Fowler leaves behind a rich legacy of family and cherished memories. She is survived by her son David Fowler and daughter-in-law Pat, along with her grandsons Shawn (and his partner Janice), Trevor, and Ryan (and his partner Amanda). Her great-grandchildren, Doviron, Corvalia, Brett, Hunter, and Joshua, also remember her fondly. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband George Fowler in 2003, her sister Dorothy Thomson, and brothers Donald and Sterling MacLeod, among others.

Evelyn's life was marked by her commitment to family and community. Known for her warm spirit and nurturing nature, she played a vital role in the lives of her relatives and friends, often serving as a source of wisdom and support. Her family noted that Evelyn's love extended beyond her immediate family, encompassing many cherished nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

The Fowler family invites friends and relatives to join them at Smith’s Funeral Home in Burlington for a Celebration of Life on August 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation starting at noon. Following the service, a reception will provide an opportunity for attendees to share stories and memories of Evelyn. Private interment is planned at Burlington Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, an organization that reflects Evelyn’s values of community support and care for others.
