Kiltegan Hall Hosts Successful Fundraising Variety Show

KILTEGAN, IRELAND — On July 3, 2025, Kiltegan Hall was filled to capacity as more than 200 attendees gathered for the second annual Kiltegan Variety Show, which showcased a vibrant array of musical performances. Organized by John Lennon and the Kiltegan Hall Committee, the event aimed to raise funds for the upkeep of the community hall and featured an eclectic mix of musical styles, including country, traditional Irish, Ukrainian folk, and bluegrass.

The show, which sold out in advance, included performances by local talents such as Eimear Casey, Jorum, and the Ukrainian Ladies, alongside special guest Dave Lofts, a Kiltegan native and rising star known for his recent performance with The Wolfe Tones.

According to Siobhan Farrell, the secretary of the hall committee, Lofts captivated the audience, creating an atmosphere so enchanting that “you could have heard a pin drop.” Farrell further emphasized the impressive caliber of musicians curated by Lennon, noting that the audience represented a diverse demographic from Kiltegan and surrounding areas.

“It's a full house with a mix of all ages,” stated Farrell, highlighting the community's enthusiastic support for local events. The evening was not just about music; it also featured a large raffle with prizes donated by local sponsors, reflecting the strong community spirit that characterizes Kiltegan.

John Lennon, who served as both organizer and master of ceremonies, expressed gratitude for the contributions of volunteers and the technical support provided by Ciaran Fitzgerald and his team, who managed the sound and lighting for the show. “There’s just something special about the Kiltegan community,” remarked Farrell, underscoring the collective effort that made the event successful.

The success of this year’s variety show builds on the popularity of its inaugural event last year, establishing it as a staple in Kiltegan's cultural calendar.
