LTO Official in Catbalogan Faces Suspension Over Vehicle Transfer Allegations

On June 30, 2025, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced a 90-day preventive suspension of a supervising transportation regulation officer in Catbalogan City, Samar, due to alleged involvement in the illegal transfer of vehicle ownership. LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, stated that the suspension is a necessary measure, highlighting that the officer’s position could allow for undue influence over potential witnesses and the possibility of tampering with evidence. The suspension will take effect immediately upon receipt of the order, as per the official notice issued by the LTO.

He also noted that the employee in question could face serious charges such as Gross Neglect of Duty and Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of the Service if the allegations are substantiated.
