England Unveils Fan Zones Ahead of Women's Rugby World Cup 2025

As anticipation mounts for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, set to commence on August 22, 2025, England is making preparations to host a nationwide celebration. The tournament will feature designated Fan Zones in cities across the country, designed to welcome rugby enthusiasts and visitors from around the globe. The central hub for these events will be the iconic Battersea Power Station in London, which has been named the Official Tournament Fan Zone.

The Fan Zones will be free to enter and will operate on match days throughout the six-week tournament. They aim to create an engaging environment for fans, local residents, and tourists to immerse themselves in the spirit of women’s rugby. Sarah Massey, Managing Director of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, stated, “We’re incredibly excited to confirm the Fan Zones that will bring the tournament to life across England. Whether you are a lifelong rugby fan or discovering the sport for the first time, the Fan Zones will offer something for everyone.”

Battersea Power Station will host a flagship fan experience from September 13 to September 27, featuring live match screenings, DJs, community rugby initiatives, and various food and drink stalls. This venue has been chosen not only for its historical significance but also for its capacity to attract a diverse audience. Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, emphasized the event's importance, calling it a “spectacular festival of sport and culture” that will showcase London as a global capital for women’s sport.

In addition to London, six other official host locations have announced their Fan Zone plans. For example, Sunderland’s Fan Zone will operate from August 21 to August 23 at Keel Square, coinciding with the city’s Music City event and Food Festival. Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens will feature local rugby clubs and street food during match weekends, while Northampton will host themed weekends in its Market Square starting August 24. Other cities like Bristol and Exeter are also preparing unique experiences to enhance the fan engagement.

With more than 330,000 tickets already sold and prices starting at £5 for children and £10 for adults, the excitement for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 is palpable. The tournament will span eight venues across England, marking it as the largest celebration of women’s rugby to date. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets through the official tournament website to partake in what promises to be a historic event for women’s sports. As noted by Massey, the aim is to allow everyone to “engage, celebrate and be a part of this unmissable moment for women’s rugby.”

This tournament not only represents a pivotal moment for women’s rugby but also serves as a platform for promoting gender equality in sports. As the world watches, England is poised to set a precedent for future generations, encouraging broader participation in women’s sports and fostering a more inclusive sporting culture.
