Hadjar Faces Challenges at 2025 Belgian GP as Lawson Secures Points

In a challenging 2025 Belgian Grand Prix held at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Isack Hadjar of Racing Bulls experienced significant difficulties due to car issues, while his teammate Liam Lawson managed to secure valuable points for the team. The race took place from July 25 to July 27, 2025, marking an important event in the ongoing Formula 1 season.

Hadjar, who initially started the race strong, found himself in eighth position early on. However, as the race progressed and conditions changed, the team made a strategic decision to pit Lawson first, which ultimately did not play in Hadjar's favor. Following a problematic pit stop, Hadjar faced further complications, forcing him into a second stop which dropped him to the back of the field. "Unfortunately, we had an issue with the car for almost the whole race, which made me lose quite a lot of lap time," Hadjar stated post-race, emphasizing his frustration with the situation.

The challenges faced by Hadjar contrast sharply with Lawson's performance, who finished in eighth place. Lawson's experience in navigating the damp conditions played a crucial role in his success. "I really enjoyed today. Often in those conditions, you just want to survive, so I’m very happy for the team and how everything came together," Lawson commented. His ability to maintain pace on medium tires allowed him to fend off competition from Gabriel Bortoleto and finish the race successfully.

Despite Hadjar's disappointing result, the Racing Bulls team remains optimistic. The duo's performance reflects the competitive nature of the season, where every point counts. Currently, Racing Bulls sits seventh in the Constructors' Championship, just two points behind their nearest rivals, Kick Sauber. The team is looking to build on this momentum as they prepare for the upcoming race in Budapest on August 1-3, 2025.

This race underlined the unpredictability of Formula 1, particularly in variable weather conditions. Both drivers expressed confidence in returning to form, with Hadjar stating, "I’m confident going to Budapest, so we’ll bounce back next week." As the team reflects on their performance, there are lessons to be learned from the strategic decisions made during the race, particularly regarding pit stops and car handling in challenging conditions. With the championship race tightening, every decision will be crucial in the remaining races of the 2025 season.
