Iron Dames Adjust Line-up for 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

In a significant development ahead of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Iron Dames racing team has announced a change in their driver line-up. Michelle Gatting, the Danish driver, will not participate in the race scheduled from June 11-15, 2025, due to a foot injury sustained during a recent pit stop. Gatting's position in the #85 Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3, entered in the LMGT3 class, will be filled by Sarah Bovy, a seasoned racer who has been with the Iron Dames team since 2021.
Bovy, 36, is preparing for her fifth participation in the prestigious endurance race, having started the season in the European Le Mans Series. She is recognized for her recent victory at the 2023 8 Hours of Bahrain, showcasing her potential to contribute significantly to the team's performance. Alongside Bovy, Célia Martin and Rahel Frey will share driving duties in the #85 Porsche.
During the Test Day preceding the race, the initial driver trio of Gatting, Martin, and Frey posted a time of 3:59.615, placing them 21st in the LMGT3 class. "We drove a lot of laps without any incidents – that’s always a plus," said Frey, highlighting the importance of consistency in endurance racing. "Coming back to Le Mans means adapting to the car’s low-downforce setup again, which is essential on this circuit." The Iron Dames team, committed to promoting women in motorsport, continues to make strides in the competitive landscape of endurance racing.
The 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is expected to draw significant attention from fans and industry stakeholders alike, marking a pivotal moment in the FIA World Endurance Championship season. As the team prepares for their upcoming challenge, the implications of this line-up change may influence their strategy and performance in one of the most demanding races in motorsport history. The Iron Dames' commitment to excellence and their ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances will be closely watched by racing enthusiasts and industry experts alike as they gear up for the event.
