Mew Jensen and Harper Secure 3m Synchro Title at British Diving Championships

In a remarkable display of athletic prowess, Scarlett Mew Jensen and Yasmin Harper, both Olympic bronze medallists from the Paris 2024 Games, clinched the national title in the 3m synchro event at the British Diving Championships held on June 8, 2025, at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham. This prestigious event concluded a four-day competition that showcased the finest talents in British diving.

Mew Jensen and Harper achieved a winning total of 294.66 points, leading the competition confidently from the outset. They were closely pursued by the duo of Amy Rollinson and Desharne Bent-Ashmeil, who had previously earned the individual title at these championships. Despite a valiant effort, Rollinson and Bent-Ashmeil finished with a score of 289.50, while Evie Smith and Tilly Brown rounded out the podium with 283.80 points.

Euan McCabe emerged as the standout performer in the men's 10m platform event, finishing with a score of 439.70. This victory marks a significant milestone, as it serves as a critical selection indicator for the Aquatics GB team preparing for the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in Singapore scheduled for July 2025.

The championships highlighted the impressive skills of Mew Jensen and Harper, who secured their victory with a series of expertly executed dives. Their opening back dive piked received a score of 51.60, which was the highest score of the competition for that round. Despite Rollinson and Bent-Ashmeil’s impressive back 2.5 somersault piked, which scored 70.20, it was not enough to overcome the lead established by Mew Jensen and Harper.

Reflecting on their performance, Yasmin Harper expressed, "This championship felt different for us because it's been a while since we competed together at a national level. Our solid training has definitely boosted our confidence, and we are aiming to surpass the 300 marker in future competitions." Meanwhile, Mew Jensen, recovering from a partial back fracture sustained three months prior to the Olympics, noted, "Competing alongside Yas again felt amazing, and we are now focused on refining our dives to ensure we are at our best for the World Championships."

With both divers expressing enthusiasm for their forthcoming challenges, they remain steadfast in their goal of medaling at the upcoming World Championships. Harper stated, "Having already won two world medals together and an Olympic medal, our aim is always to push for another medal. We believe we are capable of achieving this and are keen to sharpen our skills in the lead-up to the event."

The World Aquatics Championships 2025, set to take place from July 11 to August 3 in Singapore, will be a pivotal platform for the pair to further their aspirations in the sport. As they continue to build on their successful partnership, Mew Jensen and Harper are poised to make a significant impact on the international diving scene.
