Revolutionizing Tennis: Infosys Launches AI-Driven 'Beyond Tennis' League

In a groundbreaking development for the sport, Tennis Australia has partnered with Infosys to launch 'Beyond Tennis,' an innovative AI-driven tennis league and coaching game designed to engage the next generation of fans. Set to commence its second season on June 19, 2025, this unique platform blends elements of gaming, artificial intelligence, and social media, providing users with the opportunity to assume the roles of players' coaches or agents.
The initiative aims to captivate Generation Z and gaming enthusiasts, allowing them to shape the careers of AI-driven tennis players both on and off the court. Users can download the free 'Beyond Tennis' app from both iOS and Google Play stores, with further engagement available through social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
According to Cedric Cornelis, Chief Commercial Officer at Tennis Australia, 'Beyond Tennis is the latest innovation in fan engagement, giving tennis fans and gaming enthusiasts a whole new perspective on the world of professional tennis.' He emphasized that the project aims to make the sport more accessible and relevant in a rapidly digitizing world.
The first season concluded in May 2025 with the Infosys Aces team emerging victorious. Season Two promises to introduce new players and fresh match-ups among 16 athletes representing eight teams. Notable players include Australia’s Liam Jackson and India’s Anya Shah, alongside competitors from Japan, France, Italy, Indonesia, China, the USA, Brazil, the Philippines, Spain, Germany, Romania, and England.
The app utilizes advanced artificial intelligence to create a life-like simulation, allowing users to interact with players in real-time, guide their training, and strategize for matches. This transformation of traditional fan engagement into a futuristic experience is expected to foster new partnerships and competitions in the sport.
Navin Rammohan, Vice President of Global Marketing at Infosys, commented on the partnership's significance, stating, 'Working with Tennis Australia on Beyond Tennis has allowed us to experiment with technology that has only become available to us in recent years.' This collaboration not only enhances user engagement but also aims to broaden the demographic reach of tennis.
The launch of 'Beyond Tennis' aligns with Tennis Australia’s broader strategy to expand access to the sport, following innovative projects such as AO Adventure on Roblox and the AO Block Buster Tennis Challenge on Minecraft Education. These initiatives reflect a commitment to leveraging technology to create new avenues for fan interaction and participation in tennis, ensuring the sport remains vibrant and relevant in an increasingly digital landscape.
As the digital landscape evolves, 'Beyond Tennis' stands as a testament to how traditional sports can harness innovative technology to redefine audience engagement and enhance the overall experience for fans and players alike. The implications of such advancements could reshape the future of tennis, making it more interactive and appealing to younger audiences, while also paving the way for novel sponsorship opportunities in the digital age.
