Ricky Ponting Advocates for Australia’s Top Order Ahead of Ashes 2025

In a recent interview, ICC Hall of Famer Ricky Ponting outlined his expectations for the Australian cricket team's top order as they prepare for the first Ashes Test against England later this year. Despite achieving a 3-0 series victory against the West Indies, Australia's batting performance has faced scrutiny, with many experts emphasizing the need for improvement. The former Australian captain emphasized that the wickets in the Caribbean were not the ideal conditions for a young batter to thrive. He stated, "The attack and the wickets in Sri Lanka were good batting wickets and a really poor attack. And the wickets that we’ve got in the Caribbean have been hard for everybody to bat on."
