Taylor Hinds Rejoins Arsenal: A New Chapter for the Full-Back

In a significant development for Arsenal Women’s football, 26-year-old full-back Taylor Hinds has rejoined the club on a permanent basis after her contract with Liverpool expired. This marks a return to Arsenal for Hinds, who began her football journey with the club's youth academy at the age of 11 in 2010. During her initial tenure with Arsenal, she progressed through the ranks and made her senior debut in the 2017/18 season, showcasing her versatility by playing both in defense and midfield.
Hinds's career trajectory saw her move to Everton in January 2018, where she made 30 appearances and scored one goal over two seasons. In July 2020, she transferred to Liverpool, where she played a key role in the team's success, including their Women’s Championship title win in the 2021/22 season. Serving as vice-captain in 2023, Hinds helped Liverpool secure a commendable fourth-place finish in the Women's Super League (WSL) for the 2023/24 season, amassing 131 appearances and scoring eight goals during her tenure.
Now representing Jamaica at the international level, Hinds previously played for England at youth levels, participating in the U17 and U20 FIFA World Cups in 2016 and 2018, respectively. She made her debut for the Jamaican national team in October 2024 against France.
Expressing her excitement about returning to Arsenal, Hinds remarked, "I’m so proud to have signed for Arsenal. I want to push, compete and be winning trophies – and this club encompasses all of that both on and off the pitch... This is a full-circle moment for me and I’m grateful to come back to a place I called home when I was younger."
Clare Wheatley, Arsenal’s Director of Women’s Football, noted the significance of Hinds’s return, stating, "Everybody at Arsenal is thrilled to welcome Taylor back... She is a player with great quality and vast experience of top-level football, and will be an excellent addition to our group as we aim to compete on multiple fronts next season."
Head Coach Renée Slegers also expressed enthusiasm for Hinds’s return, emphasizing her versatility and experience in the WSL. "I’m excited to get started with Taylor on the training pitch and I’m sure our supporters will join me in welcoming Taylor back to the club," Slegers stated.
Hinds will wear the number 24 jersey at Arsenal, and her return is seen as a strategic move as the club aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming season. The formalities of the deal are still subject to completion of regulatory processes. As Arsenal Women gear up for another competitive season, Hinds’s experience and skill set are expected to play a pivotal role in the team’s pursuit of success in both domestic and international competitions.
