WTA and Duke + Dexter Launch Limited-Edition Womenswear Collection

LONDON — The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has partnered with London-based fashion label Duke + Dexter to unveil a limited-edition womenswear collection, which is set to launch on June 12, 2025. This collaboration coincides with the HSBC Championships at The Queen’s Club, marking the first WTA tournament hosted at this historic venue in over 50 years.
The collection draws inspiration from the classic and retro aesthetics of tennis, aligning with Duke + Dexter’s reputation for refined vintage styling. This initiative marks the WTA's first foray into fashion collaborations since the organization refreshed its brand identity earlier this year. According to Sarah Swanson, Chief Brand Officer of the WTA, “This year more than ever, tennis is at the centre of the cultural conversation with a distinctive style, attitude, and a generation of players who are connecting with fans around the world.”
The limited-edition collection will be available on Duke + Dexter’s official website and at Selfridges, featuring two standout pieces: a custom edition of Duke + Dexter’s women’s penny loafers and a ‘Courtside Edition’ track jacket. The penny loafers, designed in London, are presented in a contrasting off-white and black color scheme, adorned with hand-drawn artwork by the label’s in-house artist Jess, including two tennis balls and the word ‘Showtime’ in bold blue script.
Additionally, the track jacket pays homage to vintage sportswear and features WTA branding alongside Duke + Dexter’s signature star, with a custom all-over print that nods to the WTA’s founding in London in 1973. This collaboration is particularly significant as it aims to bridge the gap between sports and fashion, appealing to a broader audience.
Priscilla Hon, an athlete representing the WTA, is the face of this campaign, expressing her enthusiasm by stating, “It’s really cool to be fronting this collaboration between the WTA and Duke + Dexter. I love that the WTA is pushing women’s tennis to new fans and audiences with exciting collaborations outside the sport in fashion and media.”
Archie Hewlett, Founder of Duke + Dexter, emphasized the synergy between the two brands, noting, “We’ve always had a love for heritage sportswear and the culture that surrounds it, so collaborating with the WTA - especially at such a landmark moment in their brand’s evolution - felt like a natural fit.” He added that this collection captures the energy, individuality, and enduring style that makes tennis iconic both on and off the court.
The significance of this collaboration extends beyond mere fashion; it symbolizes a strategic effort by the WTA to engage with younger audiences and enhance its cultural relevance in the modern sports landscape. As women's sports continue to gain visibility and support, collaborations such as this are vital in promoting female athletes and connecting them with fans in innovative ways.
As the launch date approaches, the WTA and Duke + Dexter are poised to make a notable impact on the intersection of sports and fashion, with expectations that this collection will resonate with both tennis aficionados and fashion enthusiasts alike. The echoes of the past meet the vibrancy of the present as these two influential brands come together to celebrate the unique relationship between tennis and style.
