ASUS Launches Prime AP202: Innovative mATX Case with Curved Glass

On July 29, 2025, ASUS officially unveiled the Prime AP202, an innovative mATX case designed for compact system builds. This new model marks a significant departure from its predecessor, the Prime AP201, which was well-received for its minimalist design and functional capacity. The Prime AP202 features a striking single-piece curved tempered glass panel, contrasting with the standard multi-panel designs typically seen in similar cases. This design choice not only enhances aesthetics but also facilitates easy access for maintenance and upgrades, as the glass panel can be effortlessly removed using a rail system.
According to Glenn Chua, a technology journalist at HardwareZone Singapore, the curved vent integrated into the case is a key feature that allows for improved GPU cooling by drawing in fresh air from the environment. Additionally, this vent is complemented by an Addressable RGB (ARGB) light band, which users can control via ASUS's Armoury Crate software—an application designed to manage and customize RGB lighting across ASUS hardware.
The dimensions of the Prime AP202 stand at 236 x 460 x 440mm, marking an increase in size compared to its 33L predecessor, now offering a total capacity of approximately 47L. A notable design change includes the repositioning of the power supply unit (PSU) shroud to beneath the main enclosure, thus providing a panoramic view through the glass panel while also accommodating larger components. The case can house graphics cards up to 420mm long and supports power supplies measuring up to 200mm.
In terms of cooling solutions, the Prime AP202 is designed to support a variety of configurations—up to 360mm radiators on the top panel or three 120mm fans for air cooling. The bottom panel allows for another three 120mm fans, while the side panel can accommodate two additional fans. For connectivity, the case includes two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C port with speeds of up to 20Gbps, and a combined headphone/microphone port, all conveniently located on the front I/O panel.
ASUS's move to create cases like the Prime AP202 reflects a growing trend towards compact yet powerful builds, catering to enthusiasts who prioritize both aesthetics and performance. The company recently launched the TUF T500, a small form factor gaming desktop utilizing mobile processors, further demonstrating its commitment to innovation within the space. The Prime AP202 is priced at S$149 for the standard black and white models, while the ARGB variant, which includes three pre-installed MR120 ARGB fans, is set at S$179.
As ASUS continues to expand its offerings for compact builds, the Prime AP202 represents not just a product launch but a significant step in addressing the evolving needs of gamers and tech enthusiasts alike. With its combination of style, functionality, and advanced cooling options, the Prime AP202 is poised to become a popular choice for those looking to build powerful yet space-efficient systems.
