Hololight Secures €10 Million Funding to Advance XR Pixel-Streaming Technology

On July 8, 2025, Hololight, a German provider of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) pixel-streaming technology, announced it has secured a €10 million (approximately $10.8 million) investment aimed at expanding its global distribution and enhancing its technology. This funding round was led by Cipio Partners, a European growth fund, with participation from existing investors including Bayern Kapital, Direttissima Growth Partners, EnBW New Ventures, and Future Energy Ventures. Hololight's innovative pixel-streaming technology allows AR and VR applications to be streamed from centralized servers to end-user devices without performance degradation, irrespective of the hardware used. This capability not only ensures data security but also facilitates the scalability of immersive applications, enabling companies to develop more powerful and user-friendly AR/VR devices.
Florian Haspinger, CEO and co-founder of Hololight, articulated the company's ambitious vision: "Our goal is to make every AR/VR application available wirelessly – as easy and accessible as Netflix streams movies." This statement underscores Hololight's commitment to developing their core technology and launching new products that will solidify their leadership in the XR landscape. The company has also partnered with industry giants such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Snap, and Meta, suggesting a collaborative approach to driving the future of AR/VR technology.
The newly secured investment will also facilitate the marketing and distribution of Hololight's latest innovation, the Hololight Stream Runtime, which allows OpenXR-compatible applications to be streamed seamlessly to AR and VR devices without requiring additional development efforts. Dr. Ansgar Kirchheim, Partner at Cipio Partners, emphasized the potential of Hololight's technology, stating, "Hololight's unique XR pixel-streaming technology opens up the broad application of AR/VR in industry and, in the future, also for consumers."
Hololight already boasts a customer base of over 150 international clients, including prominent technology firms and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company aims to leverage its pioneering role in XR pixel-streaming to drive broader adoption of this technology across various sectors. Haspinger concluded, "Our vision is clear: Anyone who wants to successfully use AR/VR needs XR pixel-streaming. We are ready to take AR/VR to the next level." This significant investment not only highlights the growing importance of XR technologies but also positions Hololight as a key player in the ongoing evolution of immersive digital experiences.
