Motorola Unveils razr 60 and edge 60 pro Smartphones with Advanced AI Features

Motorola has officially launched its latest smartphone models, the razr 60 and the edge 60 pro, in Australia, marking a significant advancement in mobile technology. The devices, which will be available for pre-sale from July 10, are priced at AUD $1,199 each and are set to enhance user experience through improved durability and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The razr 60 features a foldable design with a titanium-reinforced hinge, reportedly four times stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel. This innovative design allows the smartphone to withstand up to 35% more folds compared to its predecessor. The device is equipped with a 3.6-inch external display, enabling users to access apps without unfolding the phone—a feature aimed at improving usability in everyday situations. Additionally, the new Air Gesture technology allows users to control video recording through hand movements, promoting hands-free content creation.
The camera system of the razr 60 includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide and macro lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera, making it one of the most capable foldable smartphones in terms of photography. According to Praveena Raman, Country General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, “The motorola razr 60 is a perfect example of how we’re combining iconic design with intelligent innovation.”
On the other hand, the edge 60 pro targets high-performance users, featuring a quad-camera system that incorporates a Sony LYTIA sensor and a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset with 12GB of RAM. The device sports a 6.7-inch pOLED HDR10+ display, capable of achieving peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It also comes with a robust battery capacity of 6,000mAh and supports 90W TurboPower fast charging. Notably, the edge 60 pro has received the Gold Label in battery performance from DXOMARK, highlighting its superior endurance.
Both devices are powered by Motorola’s moto ai, which provides contextual suggestions based on user activity. Features such as Next Move can prompt users about important dates or help generate personalized playlists—enhancing the overall user experience. “We’re proud to continue leading the flip phone category and beyond, with devices that aren’t just well-designed, but also smart,” Raman added.
The razr 60 is available in Pantone Gibraltar Sea and Pantone Parfait Pink, while the edge 60 pro can be purchased in Pantone Shadow and Pantone Sparkling Grape. Both models will be offered through various retailers, including JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman.
In a competitive market where smartphones are increasingly incorporating advanced technology, Motorola's latest offerings reflect the company’s commitment to innovation and user-centric design. As the smartphone landscape evolves, the integration of AI into mobile devices will likely play a crucial role in shaping user interactions and functionalities in the coming years. This launch not only reinforces Motorola’s position in the foldable phone market but also emphasizes the importance of durability and enhanced performance in modern smartphones. With these advancements, Motorola aims to meet the growing demand for devices that blend functionality with aesthetic appeal, making technology more accessible and user-friendly.
