The 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the most prestigious endurance racing events globally, is set to take place on June 14-15, 2025. In this year's competition, Porsche will field a formidable lineup that includes four Porsche 963 hybrid prototypes and three Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars, aiming to enhance its storied legacy at the event.

Porsche Penske Motorsport, the factory team, will enter three of the Porsche 963 hybrids, which are renowned for their performance in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Joining the factory team, customer squad Proton Competition will contribute an additional Porsche 963 to the Hypercar category, while Manthey Racing will defend its title with three entries in the LMGT3 class, specifically the Porsche 911 GT3 R.

With a record of 19 overall victories and 111 class wins, Porsche holds the title as the most successful manufacturer in the history of the Le Mans race. The upcoming 93rd edition of the event is expected to attract over 325,000 spectators, underlining its significance in the motorsport calendar.

Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport, expressed confidence in the team's preparation, stating, "Since the regulations were introduced, the Porsche 963 has proven to be the most successful LMDh race car. We are hopeful that the conditions are right this year for a strong performance and to secure our 20th overall win at Le Mans."

Urs Kuratle, Director of Factory Motorsport LMDh, noted the intense competition this year, saying, "Most of the cars are now in their third season and are therefore highly reliable. The battle for overall victory will be decided by the finest of margins, including strategy and flawless pit work."

Jonathan Diuguid, Managing Director of Porsche Penske Motorsport, highlighted advancements in their race preparation, mentioning that all three Porsche 963 cars were prepped at their facility in Mannheim for the first time. "We’re better prepared than ever before. The Porsche 963 is extremely reliable, and our driver lineup is world-class. Let’s go racing!"

The historic Circuit des 24 Heures, located in Le Mans, France, features a 13.626-kilometer lap with sections of public roads, including the famous Mulsanne Straight. The race will commence on Saturday at 4:00 PM (CEST), with double championship points awarded due to the extended distance. This year, a total of 62 entries will participate across three classes.

In addition to the competitive spirit, Porsche is also continuing its charitable initiative, "Racing for Charity," pledging to donate €500 for every lap completed by its factory-entered cars during the event. This initiative has successfully raised €1,811,000 over the past two years for organizations supporting critically ill children.

As the race approaches, drivers from the factory team, including Pascal Wehrlein, Michael Christensen, and Laurens Vanthoor, have expressed their excitement and readiness for the challenge ahead. With meticulous preparations in place, the team aims to enhance Porsche’s legacy and achieve remarkable results at this iconic endurance race.
