Vivo X Fold 5 and X200 FE to Launch in India on July 14, 2025

Vivo is set to unveil its latest smartphone offerings, the Vivo X Fold 5 and Vivo X200 FE, in India on July 14, 2025, at 12 PM IST. The launch event will be streamed live on the company’s social media platforms and YouTube channel, where the pricing and promotional offers will also be disclosed. The Indian variants of these devices are anticipated to closely mirror their Chinese counterparts, with specific features yet to be officially confirmed.
The Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to introduce significant advancements in foldable smartphone technology, showcasing an 8.03-inch 2K+ 8T LTPO AMOLED main display, providing a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of 4,500 nits, alongside a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LTPO AMOLED cover display, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, coupled with an Adreno 750 GPU, and may offer configurations with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. In terms of camera capabilities, the X Fold 5 is speculated to feature a triple camera system with ZEISS branding, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, complemented by a 20MP front-facing camera. It is also projected to include a robust 6,000mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging technologies, alongside an IPX9+ rating for water and dust resistance.
Conversely, the Vivo X200 FE is anticipated to be a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 Pro Mini, featuring a sleek 6.31-inch display with a thickness of under 8mm. This model is poised to include dual 50MP ZEISS-branded lenses and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens within its camera array. Powering the X200 FE is expected to be the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, paired with UFS 3.1 storage, and it will operate on FunTouch OS 15 based on Android 15. The device is also set to offer a considerable 6,500mAh battery alongside 90W wired fast charging capabilities, making it a competitive option in the premium smartphone market.
As the smartphone landscape continues to evolve, the introduction of the Vivo X Fold 5 and X200 FE comes at a critical juncture, with the competition intensifying among leading brands. Samsung's recent Galaxy Unpacked event highlighted the growing demand for innovative smartphone features and designs, pushing manufacturers like Vivo to elevate their offerings to meet consumer expectations.
In a statement, Dr. Michael Cheng, a technology analyst at the International Data Corporation (IDC), noted, “Vivo’s entry into the foldable market with the X Fold 5 signifies a strategic move to capture market share in a segment that has seen exponential growth. The integration of advanced camera technology and battery performance is likely to resonate with consumers seeking premium devices.”
Additionally, industry insiders speculate that Vivo’s focus on high-quality materials and build design, as evidenced by the IP68 and IP69 ratings for the X200 FE, will position the brand favorably against competitors like Apple and Samsung. This strategy aligns with a broader trend in the smartphone industry, where durability and functionality are increasingly prioritized by consumers.
The launch of these two models not only highlights Vivo's commitment to innovation but also reflects a larger trend within the smartphone industry where manufacturers are racing to improve technological capabilities while remaining competitive in pricing. As the launch event approaches, anticipation builds around the potential of these devices to redefine user experiences in the foldable and compact smartphone markets.
