Gisèle Pelicot Settles Privacy Invasion Case Against Paris Match

In a notable legal resolution, Gisèle Pelicot, a prominent figure in France's fight against sexual violence, has settled an invasion of privacy claim against the magazine Paris Match. The settlement, reached on June 11, 2025, will see Paris Match pay €40,000 to two charities dedicated to supporting victims of violence, following the publication of unauthorized photographs of Pelicot in a vulnerable state.

Pelicot, who has gained significant attention for her bravery in revealing her traumatic experiences, became a feminist icon after publicly waiving her right to anonymity during the trial of her ex-husband, Dominique Pelicot, and 50 other men.
