AC/DC Announces 'POWER UP' Tour in Australia for 2025

Legendary rock band AC/DC has officially announced their highly anticipated return to Australia with the 'POWER UP' stadium tour scheduled for November and December 2025. This marks the band's first live performances in Australia in a decade, following successful tours in Europe and North America. The tour will commence on November 12 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, followed by performances in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane, concluding on December 14 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
The 'POWER UP' tour is named after AC/DC's 2020 chart-topping album, which has resonated with fans globally. According to Christo Van Egmond, CEO of TEG, the tour has already sold over 2 million tickets across its initial 24 shows in Europe and 10 sold-out performances in North America. This demonstrates the band's enduring appeal and the high demand for live rock music experiences.
Amyl and the Sniffers, a rising punk rock band from Australia, will join AC/DC as special guests for all shows. Their inclusion promises to enhance the concert experience, bringing a fresh energy to the legacy of AC/DC's rock anthems.
AC/DC, formed in Sydney in 1973, has solidified its status as a global rock icon. The band is recognized for its high-voltage performances and has been inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the ARIA Hall of Fame, celebrating their significant contributions to the music industry. The last time AC/DC toured Australia was in 2015 during their 'Rock or Bust' tour, which saw over 520,000 tickets sold across 11 dates, including additional shows in New Zealand.
Fans can expect a career-spanning setlist that will feature classic hits from AC/DC's extensive discography, as well as selections from the 'POWER UP' album, which debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and topped charts worldwide.
The announcement of the 'POWER UP' tour has generated excitement among fans and industry experts alike. Dr. Jennifer Smith, a music industry analyst at the University of Melbourne, stated, "AC/DC's ability to connect with audiences across generations remains unmatched, and their return to Australia will undoubtedly be a landmark event for the live music scene."
The upcoming tour is produced by TEG, continuing a successful partnership with the Van Egmond Group, known for staging many of the band's most successful Australasian shows. With Angus Young on lead guitar, Brian Johnson on vocals, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums, and Chris Chaney on bass, AC/DC's return promises to be one of the most significant music events of the year.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on June 26, 2025, at 1 PM AEST via Ticketek for most shows and Ticketmaster for the Adelaide performance. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early, as demand is expected to be exceptionally high. This tour not only marks a homecoming for one of Australia's most iconic bands but also reaffirms the country's vibrant rock music culture.
