Samsung Art Store Launches Largest Collection at Art Basel 2025

Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Art Basel, has unveiled the Art Basel in Basel (ABB) Collection, the largest collection to date available on the Samsung Art Store. This significant digital exhibition will be accessible to all Samsung Art TV users starting June 19, 2025, during the Art Basel fair held in Basel, Switzerland, until June 22. The ABB Collection features 38 curated works from renowned artists and galleries, aiming to celebrate global art diversity and innovation through advanced display technology.

The ABB Collection stands out for its commitment to inclusivity, showcasing works from artists across continents and mediums, including representation from Africa for the first time. Samsung's initiative underscores its mission to democratize access to contemporary art, making it available to a wider audience through its state-of-the-art display technologies. The collection includes pieces by notable artists such as Roméo Mivekannin, Basim Magdy, and Zandile Tshabalala, highlighting both emerging talent and established figures in the art world.

According to Maike Cruse, Director of Art Basel in Basel, "With the launch of a new collection in the Samsung Art Store for Art Basel in Basel 2025, we’re thrilled to offer our global audiences new ways to engage with our show. Our global partnership with Samsung extends the visitor experience beyond the Messe and into people’s homes—creating new entry points to discover the exceptional artists and galleries that define our flagship fair in Basel."

This collaboration between Samsung and Art Basel began with the 2024 Art Basel Miami Beach and continued with the 2025 Art Basel Hong Kong, demonstrating a shared vision of using display technology as a vibrant medium for storytelling and artistic expression. The ABB Collection was curated from over 100 submissions, reflecting a focus on diversity in both artist representation and artistic mediums.

To enhance the Art Basel experience, Samsung will present an interactive lounge titled ArtCube, where visitors can engage with the Samsung Art Store's exclusive collections. The lounge will showcase how Samsung's display technologies, including The Frame, MICRO LED, and Neo QLED 8K, redefine the digital art experience. ArtCube will also feature panel discussions with influential voices from the contemporary art scene, addressing the intersection of technology and art.

The Samsung Art Store currently offers over 3,500 works from more than 800 artists, including the ABB Collection. All Samsung Art TV users can access this collection on the Samsung Art Store, transforming their TVs into personalized art galleries. The collaboration signifies a pivotal moment in the intersection of technology and art, as it continues to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of artistic engagement in the digital age.

As the global art community converges in Basel, the ABB Collection not only exemplifies Samsung’s commitment to art and culture but also serves as a testament to the evolving role of technology in enhancing accessibility and appreciation of the arts. This initiative is poised to make a lasting impact on how art is experienced, viewed, and valued in contemporary society.
