He stated, "Due to a lack of awareness, the number of brain tumor patients is on the rise in Pakistan," highlighting the urgent need for educational initiatives to inform the public about this serious health issue.

The PINS facility has been equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, including a neuronavigation system and high-magnification exoscope, which enable surgeons to perform complex operations with greater precision. Professor Bashir called upon the Punjab government to invest in Gamma Knife technology, a non-invasive treatment method that represents a significant advancement in brain tumor care. As per the World Health Organization (WHO), there are approximately 15 million brain tumor patients worldwide, with a notable prevalence among women. Professor Bashir emphasized that early diagnosis is crucial, stating that once a brain tumor is detected, immediate treatment should commence to improve survival rates, as one-third of patients succumb to the disease within five years.
