In an urgent appeal for awareness, Danny Burkey, a 59-year-old resident of Ossett, has shared his personal experience with prostate cancer, urging men to seek early diagnosis through simple blood tests. Diagnosed in 2021 with an incurable form of the disease, Burkey's story highlights the critical importance of early detection and the need for men to overcome the stigma surrounding prostate health checks.

Prostate cancer has become the most prevalent cancer in England, affecting one in eight men, according to Prostate Cancer UK.
