Marcos Secures Investment Deals and Launches Pavilion in Japan

MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. returned to the Philippines on June 22, 2025, after a productive four-day working visit to Osaka, Japan. During this visit, he successfully secured new investment commitments and inaugurated the Philippine Pavilion for the upcoming World Expo 2025. Additionally, the Tsuneishi Group announced plans to construct the world's first methanol dual-fueled KAMSARMAX bulk carrier in Cebu, marking a significant step towards sustainable shipping practices. President Marcos highlighted, "These projects will generate jobs and position the Philippines as a leader in clean energy and green shipping."

The President also engaged in discussions with officials from the Japan Tourism Agency, Japan Association of Travel Agents, the Japan-Philippines Tourism Council, and representatives from Kansai Airports, along with Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific. The focus of these discussions was to enhance tourism cooperation and create more employment opportunities for Filipino workers in the tourism sector.

A notable highlight of the visit was a meeting with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, where the two nations explored potential collaborations in space technology. These collaborations aim to improve disaster monitoring systems, agricultural support, and community safety measures in the Philippines.

During his trip, President Marcos met with members of the Filipino community in Osaka, expressing gratitude for their contributions in representing the Philippines abroad.
