McFarlane Toys Unveils New Elite Edition Figures for 2025

In a recent segment of IGN Live, McFarlane Toys showcased their upcoming Elite Edition series, which features two highly anticipated figures: Doom Slayer from the game Doom: The Dark Ages and Lilith from Diablo IV. The event, hosted on June 9, 2025, highlighted the innovative design and intricate details that define these new collectibles.

Brian Walters, Director of Brand Creative at McFarlane Toys, explained the vision behind the Elite Edition line. "Our aim was to create highly decorated, super detailed, iconic versions of characters from games," Walters stated. This new series aims to elevate the quality of action figures by incorporating soft goods, such as the fur cloak on Doom Slayer, and introducing new materials not previously used in their products.

The Doom Slayer figure includes an impressive array of accessories, such as the Pulveriser, flail, combat shotgun, and shield saw. Walters expressed enthusiasm for the figure's potential impact, noting, "I felt it was a really great first item for our Elite Edition series." Although pre-orders for this figure are currently sold out, Walters assured fans that it will be available at major retailers, including Walmart and Gamestop, upon its release. Furthermore, he hinted at the development of additional monsters for the Doom Slayer to confront, expanding the playability of the figure.

Lilith’s figure, which has recently become available for pre-order, boasts several features that set it apart. This includes multiple facial expressions and articulated wings, along with a soft PVC tail that allows for customizable posing. Williams discussed the challenges in achieving a balance between executing intricate designs and maintaining functionality as a toy. "You have to make tough decisions," he remarked, emphasizing the engineering required to create a figure that does not compromise the character's aesthetic.

In addition to these figures, McFarlane Toys is also preparing to launch a Power Armor figure from Fallout, marking its first articulated representation based on the video game rather than its television adaptation. Williams assured fans that there are further surprises in store for the Elite Edition line.

Moreover, the presentation included glimpses of figures from the upcoming Mortal Kombat Classics line, featuring a boxed Sub-Zero. This figure is packaged retro-style, complete with joystick controls on the art and the original character select image on the back. The nostalgic packaging aims to resonate with fans of the classic arcade game.

The introduction of the Elite Edition series signifies McFarlane Toys' commitment to innovation within the collectibles market. As the company continues to push the boundaries of design and functionality in action figures, collectors and fans alike eagerly anticipate the release of these highly detailed representations of beloved gaming characters.
