Gene Haas and Ayao Komatsu to Drive F1 Cars at Goodwood Festival

Gene Haas, the founder and owner of the Haas Formula 1 team, alongside team principal Ayao Komatsu, is set to drive Formula 1 cars at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, scheduled for July 10-13, 2025. This event marks a significant moment for the Haas team as they celebrate their 10th anniversary in the sport and commemorate their 200th Grand Prix start, which occurred at the recent Canadian Grand Prix.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is renowned for its iconic hillclimb event, where automotive enthusiasts gather to witness a showcase of various motorsport vehicles. Gene Haas will pilot the 2023 VF-23 model on July 11, while Komatsu will take the wheel of the VF-24, the team's upcoming car for the next season. This occasion will also feature the presence of Kazuki Nakajima, Vice Chairman of Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe, who will drive the VF-23 on July 10, kicking off the four-day festivities.

Haas and Komatsu recently experienced their first driving session together in Formula 1 machinery during a private shakedown at Silverstone, where Gene completed several laps on the Stowe track configuration. In addition to driving activities, the Haas team will showcase significant cars from their history in the Ballroom Paddock, including the VF-16, their inaugural F1 car, and the VF-25, which is expected to compete in the British Grand Prix shortly after the festival.

The participation of Haas at Goodwood aligns with the festival's celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship. A multitude of teams and drivers from across the grid are also anticipated to partake in the festivities, further enriching the experience for motorsport fans.

As the Haas team continues to solidify its presence in Formula 1, this event serves not only as a celebration of past achievements but also as a platform to look forward to future endeavors in the highly competitive motorsport landscape. The excitement surrounding the Goodwood Festival of Speed underscores the enduring appeal of Formula 1 and its dedicated fanbase.
