Hladun and Lazarenko Secure Victory at Warmia Mazury Challenge 2025

In a thrilling final at the Warmia Mazury Challenge held on June 29, 2025, Ukrainian beach volleyball duo Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko emerged victorious against German competitors Linda Bock and Louisa Lippmann. This triumph not only marked their return to the top of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour after a seven-month hiatus but also solidified their reputation as one of the premier teams in European beach volleyball.
The event, hosted at Anders Hotel Beach in Warmia Mazury, showcased an exciting competition where Hladun and Lazarenko demonstrated resilience and skill. After losing the first set 19-21, the pair rallied to win the subsequent sets 21-14 and 15-11, ultimately clinching the gold medal. This victory represents their third title on the Beach Pro Tour since they began partnering in 2023 and their second Challenge event win, having previously triumphed in Chennai in November 2024.
Hladun, 32, and Lazarenko, 21, completed the tournament undefeated, winning all six matches. Their performance in Poland holds particular significance, as it recalls their first title, which they earned at the 2023 Futures event in Warsaw. "We like to play in Poland because it’s really close to our country and the people are always really nice to us," Hladun remarked after the match. "They support us so much."
The tournament also marked a significant achievement for Bock and Lippmann, who earned their first Beach Pro Tour medals as partners after transitioning from indoor volleyball. Bock recently made the switch to beach volleyball, while Lippmann represented Germany at the 2024 Paris Olympics before joining the sand circuit.
In the bronze medal match, the French team of Clémence Vieira and Aline Chamereau overcame American duo Julia Donlin and Lexy Denaburg, winning in straight sets 21-18, 21-18. Vieira reflected on their semifinal loss, stating, “Putting the semifinal loss behind us wasn’t easy, but we managed to get the energy back for today.” This bronze medal adds to their consecutive successes, having also secured third place in Alanya just two weeks prior.
As the Beach Pro Tour continues, the next Challenge event is scheduled to take place in Brazil from September 3-9, followed by an Elite tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland. The performance of Hladun and Lazarenko at the Warmia Mazury Challenge reinforces their status as a formidable force in international beach volleyball, showcasing their potential for future competitions.
