Samsung Unveils Smart Monitor M9 Featuring AI-Enhanced QD-OLED Display

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has officially launched its latest range of Smart Monitors in Australia, highlighted by the flagship Smart Monitor M9 (model M90SF), which incorporates cutting-edge Quantum Dot Organic Light Emitting Diode (QD-OLED) technology. This innovative monitor aims to redefine user experience by merging high-quality display technology with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) functionalities. The Smart Monitor M9 is accompanied by refreshed versions of the M8 (M80F) and M7 (M70F) models, making the series versatile for both work and entertainment purposes.
Neal Elliott, the Acting Head of ProDisplay at Samsung Electronics Australia, stated, "The Smart Monitor series continues to evolve to meet the needs of Australian consumers who are looking for premium monitor experiences that provide the best outcomes whether they are using it for work, entertainment or gaming." He emphasized that the combination of QD-OLED display technology and Samsung Vision AI features results in a personalized user experience, characterized by high picture quality and versatile entertainment options.
The Smart Monitor M9 features a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panel that offers deep contrast and vibrant colors, thereby enhancing the visual experience across various applications, including productivity tasks, streaming, and gaming. The monitor is equipped with Samsung’s proprietary OLED Safeguard+, designed to maintain screen integrity over time by mitigating the risk of burn-in through an advanced cooling system. Furthermore, the M9 boasts a Glare-Free display, ensuring consistent visibility even in brightly lit environments.
In terms of performance, the M9 integrates several AI-driven technologies, such as AI Picture Optimiser, 4K AI Upscaling Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro, which collectively enhance both picture and sound quality in real-time. This adaptability enables the monitor to optimize performance according to the type of content being viewed or created. Additionally, the Smart Monitor M9 functions as a smart entertainment hub, offering direct access to popular streaming services and gaming platforms, including the Samsung Gaming Hub, which facilitates cloud-based gaming without the necessity for a console or PC.
With a refresh rate of 165Hz and a response time of just 0.03ms (measured from grey to grey), the M9 is engineered for smooth performance during high-speed visual scenarios, making it suitable for demanding gaming environments. The monitor's slim metal design not only reflects modern aesthetics but also complements any workspace.
The M9 has achieved a Pantone Validated certification, signifying its advanced adaptive color technology and exceptional color reproduction capabilities, which meet stringent standards set by Pantone.
The Smart Monitor M8 and M7 models, while less feature-rich than the M9, also contribute to Samsung’s smart monitor offerings. Both models feature 32-inch 4K UHD screens and are equipped with advanced VA panel technology, ensuring rich contrast and sharp detail. They also incorporate built-in AI functionalities and Tizen OS Home, which personalizes user recommendations and facilitates easier access to frequently used services.
Designed for flexibility, all three models—M9, M8, and M7—are compatible with SmartThings, allowing users to control smart home devices seamlessly. They also support Multi Control between Samsung devices and feature Multi View capabilities for side-by-side multitasking. Integration with Microsoft 365 allows users to create and edit documents directly from the monitors, catering to the evolving demands of modern work environments.
The Smart Monitor M9 is now available in Australia with a recommended retail price of AUD 2,499, while the M8 and M7 models are priced at AUD 999 and AUD 699, respectively. Samsung has committed to providing up to seven years of One UI Tizen upgrades for these models, ensuring that users can continually benefit from the latest features and services.
