Hyundai N Achieves 5th Consecutive TCR Class Victory at Nürburgring

NÜRBURGRING/SEOUL, June 23, 2025 – Hyundai Motor Company’s high-performance N brand has secured its fifth consecutive TCR class victory at the prestigious 24h Nürburgring endurance race, marking a significant milestone in its motorsport history. This year’s event, held from June 21 to 22 in Nurburg, Germany, also celebrated Hyundai's 10th consecutive participation in one of the world's most challenging racing events.

The endurance race, famously dubbed the 'Green Hell,' presents a grueling test of speed, skill, and stamina over its legendary 25.378-kilometer Nordschleife layout. Hyundai N entered the competition with two ELANTRA N TCR race cars, which dominated the TCR category with a one-two finish, further solidifying the brand's reputation for performance and reliability in high-pressure environments.

Joon Park, Vice President and Head of N Brand Management Group, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are elated with our fifth straight victory in the Nürburgring TCR class and our 10th consecutive year of participation. This celebration of endurance and innovation reflects our unwavering commitment to motorsport and our high-performance heritage. It enables us to advance high-performance N brand technology and deliver cars that provide true driving pleasure.”

Since its debut at the Nürburgring in 2016, Hyundai has utilized this racing platform not only to showcase its vehicles but also to gather critical data that informs product development. The success at the Nürburgring is a testament to the durability and performance of Hyundai's N products, which have been rigorously tested in one of the sport's most demanding arenas.

In addition to the TCR class, Hyundai N also introduced the ELANTRA N1 Cup car in the SP3T class. Unfortunately, this vehicle had to retire after 17 hours due to a collision, highlighting the unpredictable nature of endurance racing.

The drivers for the winning team included a German lineup featuring Marc Basseng, Manuel Lauck, and Christer Joens in ELANTRA N #1. Meanwhile, the North American team, comprising Bryson Morris, Michael Louis, Mason Filippi, and Robert Wickens, finished in second place with ELANTRA N #2. Wickens' return to racing after a hiatus due to injury was particularly noteworthy, as he demonstrated exceptional skill using a custom hand-control system, reinforcing Hyundai's belief that motorsport is accessible to all who possess the passion to compete.

Moreover, Hyundai's collaboration with Toyota at the Nürburgring further emphasizes the spirit of camaraderie in motorsport. The two brands hosted a joint booth, showcasing their mutual passion for performance and innovation. This partnership builds on collaborative initiatives, including the 'Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival' held in Korea in 2024, aimed at fostering a community around motorsport.

Hyundai’s sustained success at the Nürburgring not only illustrates its commitment to high-performance vehicles but also serves as a platform for technological advancement and global collaboration in the automotive industry. As the brand continues to thrive in competitive motorsport, it simultaneously advances its mission to provide innovative and exhilarating driving experiences for its customers worldwide.
