NEOM McLaren and Oxagon Launch Special Edition Livery for London E-Prix

On July 2, 2025, NEOM McLaren Electric Racing unveiled a striking new livery for the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season finale, set to take place in London on July 26-27. The reveal occurred at McLaren Racing's Never Stop Racing fan experience event held in Trafalgar Square. The new design, envisioned as a bold 'away kit,' creatively embodies the aspirations of Oxagon, which is envisioned as NEOM's reimagined industrial city.
The collaboration between Oxagon and NEOM McLaren Electric Racing represents a strategic partnership aimed at fostering innovation and technological advancement. Ian James, Team Principal of NEOM McLaren Electric Racing, stated, "This special edition livery offers a fresh take on our existing design — a purposeful 'away kit' that shines a light on Oxagon, one of NEOM’s key regions. It represents more than bold visuals; it symbolizes a partnership rooted in innovation, collaboration, and real-world industrial transformation."
Vishal Wanchoo, CEO of Oxagon, echoed this sentiment, saying, "Our work with the NEOM McLaren Electric Racing Team demonstrates how cross-industry partnerships can accelerate sustainable transformation. By combining McLaren’s performance and efficiency with Oxagon’s vision for clean, connected manufacturing, we’re advancing the kind of innovation that is shaping the future of industry."
The newly designed livery features dynamic colors inspired by Oxagon while retaining the iconic papaya elements synonymous with the NEOM McLaren brand. This design will also be prominently displayed on the race suits and helmets worn by drivers Sam Bird and Taylor Barnard.
This unveiling comes on the heels of the launch of the Oxagon x McLaren Accelerator Program, initiated in 2023. This program aims to fast-track deep tech solutions and innovative approaches to enhance industries, with two successful cohorts having already completed the 12-week course. Notably, pilot projects have emerged from this initiative, focusing on areas such as autonomous mobility, smart logistics, and supply chain innovation within NEOM and across Saudi Arabia.
In 2024, four out of seven participating companies were shortlisted to pilot their technologies in NEOM's port, focusing on key areas such as health, safety, and environmental standards, worker wellbeing, robotic container handling, and condition-based predictive maintenance. The partnership, which began in 2022, extends beyond mere motorsport sponsorship, reflecting a shared commitment to high performance, innovation, and the cultivation of future talent.
The reveal of the new livery in London serves not only as a celebration of design and aesthetics but also as a testament to the partnership's role in advancing progress through technology, design, and shared values. As NEOM continues to develop its vision for a sustainable future, collaborations like this will be pivotal in shaping the industrial landscape of tomorrow.
