Porsche Customer Teams Achieve Success at Jakarta E-Prix

In a thrilling display of motorsport prowess, Porsche customer teams secured a significant victory during the 12th race of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on June 21, 2025. Dan Ticktum, driving for the Cupra Kiro team, clinched his first career win in the series, while fellow Porsche driver Nico Müller of Andretti Formula E finished in third place, further solidifying Porsche's position in the championship standings.

The race took place on a challenging Jakarta street circuit, known for its bumpy terrain and tricky overtaking opportunities. Ticktum, starting from fifth on the grid, showcased impressive skill by maneuvering through the pack to take the lead in the race's final stages. Müller’s performance was equally commendable, as he advanced from a 13th-place start to secure a podium finish.

Porsche's factory-run TAG Heuer Formula E Team also performed admirably, with António Félix da Costa finishing in fourth place after starting ninth. The team’s lead driver, reigning World Champion Pascal Wehrlein, faced challenges starting from 17th due to a qualifying penalty, ultimately finishing in 11th position. Despite this setback, the team remains second in the drivers' classification and extended its lead in the teams' standings, now sitting at 203 points.

Florian Modlinger, Director of Factory Motorsport Formula E at Porsche, commented on the race, stating, "A tough race day in extreme conditions here in Jakarta. Overall, three Porsche in the top 4 is a really strong result. Congratulations to Cupra Kiro for the first victory with a package that has already earned two World Championships."

As the championship progresses, the competition intensifies with only four races remaining in the season. The next races will be held at the Berlin E-Prix on July 12 and 13, 2025. Given the tight standings, every point will be crucial as teams vie for the championship. The current drivers' classification sees Oliver Rowland leading with 172 points, followed by Wehrlein and Félix da Costa at 103 and 100 points, respectively.

This season marks Porsche's sixth year in the Formula E series, witnessing the introduction of customer teams such as Cupra Kiro, which employs the Porsche 99X technology. The insights gained from Formula E are pivotal for Porsche’s development of production sports cars, emphasizing the brand's commitment to electric racing and sustainable innovation.

As the teams prepare for the next challenge in Berlin, the stakes are higher than ever, with both the manufacturers' and teams' classifications remaining closely contested. With the dynamic nature of Formula E racing and Porsche's competitive spirit, fans can anticipate more exhilarating performances in the upcoming races.
