Dierks Bentley's 'Broken Branches': New Album and Tour Insights

NASHVILLE, TN – Country music star Dierks Bentley is embracing a busy summer as he celebrates the release of his eleventh studio album, 'Broken Branches,' and prepares to headline Nashville's July 4th celebrations. Released on June 1, 2025, 'Broken Branches' represents a culmination of Bentley's artistic journey, showcasing collaborations with notable artists such as Miranda Lambert, John Anderson, and Riley Green.

In a recent interview, Bentley reflected on his decision to perform during the 'Let Freedom Sing!' festivities, stating, "The last ten years I’ve taken July 4th off to be with my family out in the mountains. But my kids are getting older... so I thought, well, I’ll play a show this year." This annual event is known for its live music and one of the largest fireworks displays in the nation.

The album features tracks like "Standing in the Sun" and "Never You," with Bentley emphasizing a deeper connection to Nashville’s songwriting community. "I leaned into the Nashville’s songwriting community more than ever," Bentley noted. The title track, co-written with Anderson and Green, metaphorically explores the concept of being 'broken branches off the family tree,' an idea that resonates with many in the close-knit music community.

One standout track, "She Hates Me," exemplifies Bentley's signature upbeat style, while other songs like "Cold Beer Can" delve into more introspective themes. "I almost wish I’d changed the title to something else because the title may mislead listeners about the song's true essence," he explained. The thoughtful composition reflects Bentley's commitment to storytelling, aiming for an album that feels cohesive and reflective of his personal journey.

As he continues his tour, Bentley is joined by rising country artist Zach Top, whom he praised as a potential future icon in the genre. "Zach is a once-in-a-generation type talent as far as singing and musicianship," Bentley stated. The tour also features The Band Loula, known for their energetic performances and unique sound.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Bentley is making strides in the whiskey industry with his brand, ROW 94, launched last year. He expressed pride in sourcing a bourbon that meets his specific criteria while remaining affordable for fans. "I wanted it to be higher proof, it had to be under $40, and it had to be from Kentucky," he said.

Bentley’s commitment to nurturing upcoming talent is evident in his collaborations with newer artists like Stephen Wilson Jr. and his encouragement of emerging performers. As he reflects on his career, Bentley remains grateful for his journey in the music industry, stating, "I’ve had a great run, loved the journey, and am so grateful to Nashville for all it’s given me."

With a busy summer ahead, Dierks Bentley's 'Broken Branches' is not only a testament to his musical evolution but also an invitation for fans to join him in celebrating both his past and future in country music.
