Juliet Klottrup Receives International Award for Documentary Excellence

In a significant recognition of her work, North Yorkshire filmmaker Juliet Klottrup has been awarded the prestigious Sony Future Filmmaker Award in Los Angeles for her documentary 'Travelling Home'. The film, which chronicles the journey of retired farrier Joe Cannon Snr to the Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria, highlights the rich culture and traditions of Gypsy and Traveller communities, often overlooked in mainstream media. Klottrup expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, "Being recognised by Sony and sharing these stories on an international stage is incredibly meaningful."

Klottrup, who graduated from the University of Brighton in 2016, began her photographic journey with the Gypsy and Traveller community in 2019.
